How Do I Upload My Roster and Payroll Deductions by SFTP?

You can easily upload your workplace roster and workplace payroll deductions by SFTP

The Uncommon Giving platform supports SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) file upload for Roster and Payroll Deductions.

If you upload your roster via SFTP or API integration, the UG application will automatically manage your roster for you, ie-

• If our platform sees a new employee ID, it will create a new UG workplace roster record
• If our platform does not see an existing UG workplace employee ID in an updated roster import, our platform will "Archive" the UG roster employee ID
• Invite new employees by-
  1. Click the Email Invite icon on the respective employee roster record(s),
  2. Click "Invite All" (Users > Roster to invite all users not in a Joined status, or
  3. Turn on auto-invite in Users > Settings > Auto-invite Not Invited Users 

To begin the SFTP process-

1. (Customer) Request SFTP credentials from your UG representative
2. (UG) Our team will provide you with SFTP credentials-
   
   1. Host address
   2. Username
   3. Password
   4. Port = 22
3. (Customer) Consult with your company's IT resources and policies to access the enter the SFTP credentials and Port # using a company approved method.
   
   1. While we do not recommend or endorse an SFTP application, a common one that we see clients utilize is FileZilla.

Once your connection is successful, simply drag and drop or have your IT system upload CSV files to the respective SFTP folder-

• Rosters uploaded to "employee"
• Payroll Deduction to "payroll"

CSV templates for each of the above can be found in their respective UG admin menu-

• Roster:  Users > Import
• Payroll Deduction: Payroll> Deductions > Import
